The latest images of The Equalizer season 5 reveals Bosch star Titus Welliver in a new leading role, with the potential to headline a new spinoff for CBS. The currently streaming Bosch: Legacy season 3 will mark the end of the long-running action drama, but it was reported earlier this year that Welliver might have booked his next starring role. He’ll appear alongside Harlem‘s Juani Feliz in an episode of The Equalizer season 5. If successful, that appearance could serve as the basis for a spinoff.
New images of The Equalizer have been revealed that offer the first look at season 5, episode 16, titled “Sins of the Father.” The episode airs Sunday, April 20, on CBS at 10 PM ET. The images come from Paramount, which owns CBS, and they show Queen Latifah’s Robyn McCall sharing the screen with Elijah “Eli” Reed (Welliver) and Samantha Reed (Feliz). Another photo shows McCall and Harry Keshegian (Adam Goldberg). Check out the photos below:
What Is The Upcoming Equalizer Episode About?
Samantha Teams Up With Robyn
Initial reports revealed that Welliver would be playing a former top CIA operative with a dark secret that’s connected to McCall through an old mentor. Feliz will play the daughter of Welliver’s character, an expert on weapons with a mysterious past that’s been well-trained by her father. Their connections will prove significant in “Sins of the Father”, which is written by Joseph C. Wilson and directed by Geoff Shotz.
The episode will see McCall get contacted by Samantha, who is in need of some help after her father has gone. They team up to look for Elijah and, in the process, as they looking for a man that’s described as an agency legend, Samantha learns more about her family’s past in the Dominican Republic. The season finale is then set for Sunday, May 4. Even though The Equalizer season 6 has not yet renewed by CBS, reports suggest its chances are good.
Our Take On The Possible Equalizer Spinoff
They’ve Brought In Two Strong Leads he
We’ll see how the episode plays out in just a matter of weeks. However, based on the casting, CBS made a strong choice. Welliver is no stranger to high-octane action dramas. Feliz is an established performer in her own right. They’re in a solid position to carry The Equalizer franchise forward. Fans are likely hoping that Queen Latifah’s Robyn McCall will have the chance to stick around as well, at least for another season or so.
