After a two-plus-year wait, The Last of Us has finally returned. The HBO horror series, based on the PlayStation franchise of the same name, was once again a huge ratings hit last weekend. The Season 2 premiere reintroduced us to Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a new deadly breed of Clicker, and a new adversary in Abby (Kaitlyn Dever). Now, before the latter makes our favorite on-screen duo’s lives a living hell, Youtooz has announced their latest figure collection for The Last of Us.
The Last of Us Youtooz series includes five figures in total. There’s Joel, Ellie, Abby, a Clicker, and an Entertainment Earth exclusive Illuminated Clicker. Each figure is $29.99 USD, except for Joel, who comes with an extra post-apocalyptic backdrop. He will be $34.99. Every character also comes with their own set of fine details. For example, Ellie comes with her guitar, while Abby is at the ready with a hammer. If that wasn’t enough, Ellie’s even sporting the tattoo she gets to cover up her bite mark that debuted in The Last of Us Part II. These figures are based on their video game counterparts, not the HBO series.
What Is ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 About?
After Joel saves Ellie’s life and lies to her about what really happened at the end of Season 1, Season 2 picks up five years with the pair in Jackson. Ellie is now 19, and she’s slowly growing apart from Joel. Episode 1 mainly focused on that sore subject matter while also putting Isabela Merced’s Dina on full display. Just like The Last of Us Part II, Dina and Ellie spark a romance. The premiere ends with the pair’s now iconic dance at a New Year’s Eve party that was interrupted by a hateful community member who thought they were getting too steamy for a family function. Before Ellie can start anything, Joel comes in to “save the day” and causes quite the scene. That makes his current relationship with Ellie even worse. However, that’s the least of their worries as the final shot of the episode shows that Abby’s crew has found Jackson. The introduction of Abby was a very controversial one when Part II was released in 2020. It’s going to be interesting to see how the show will adapt the genuine horrors to come. If you thought Season 1 was extremely emotional, you haven’t seen anything yet.
When Does the Next ‘Last of Us’ Episode Premiere?
New episodes of The Last of Us premiere every Sunday at 9 PM EST on HBO and Max. There are seven episodes in Season 2, with the show already being renewed for Season 3. While horror fans wait for the next episode, you can pre-order your Last of Us Youtooz figures on their website. The figures are set to ship between May and October 2025.
